The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon can absorb depends on the level of its upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase when it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.
A few of the upgrades are also magic or a mix of magic and technology, which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces weapon overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.
Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. The cost of upgrading will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. Before you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased quality. You could continue doing this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. It is better to purchase gear that has low levels of upgrade and high base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a better chance of granting you the highest level of benefits and blessings.
The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to help them level up quicker. In addition players, they should think about upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, where you combine a gemstone and a number of specific chemicals at a table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a jewel can be improved by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the tier of the jewel it will give different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
The Jeweler can create the highest levels of gems with the exception of rare and legendary ones, which you must attain an appropriate level to obtain. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.
Utilizing more jewels in the movement will make it more smooth and is typically used to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create an area that is stronger than metal, so repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.
In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely swapped, but they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow an array of small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, or by performing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket players will unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but beneficial boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same way to how a player obtains weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded, and only works with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It also helps compensate for the absence of strong slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by the hero's best stats.
As a general rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Next, any items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat than two less important ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the things mentioned above, players can also find a number of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
